Meeting my Great-Great Oma!!

Mason took his first trip up to Fredericksburg to meet his Great-Great Oma!  She just had her 101st Birthday Oct. 17th!! She is truly an amazing woman who defies age and she just loved meeting Mason.  She told him he was the prettiest baby she'd ever seen (We are sure she's said this before and will again! But we will take the compliment! haha!)   Weston seemed so proud to introduce his new son to her and we got quite a few pictures that we will always treasure! She loved his hands and feet and blue eyes.  Mason loved holding her hands!  She and Ida even fixed us a traditional family meal, sausage, homemade mashed potatoes, peas and peaches! And Oma's famous cookies for dessert of course!  It was delicious and we told Oma we would make it for Mason one day to pass down the family traditions!!  Even at 101, Oma wanted to mash the potatoes herself- they were so good and made with love!

Daddy showing me off to my Great-Great Oma!

I loved holding on to my Great-Great Oma's fingers!

Everyone was right!  My Great-Great Oma is great!! I love her!

Five Generations minus Opa, we love and miss you Opa!

If you look in the background that's my Great-Great Oma making yummy mashed potatoes!! I can't believe she's 101!!

My First Halloween!

My first halloween was SO much fun! What was I??  The cutest Pumpkin in the Patch of course!! I got to help Mommy and Daddy pass out candy to all the little kids- it was fun. Mommy made me wear a pumpkin hat and made Daddy go and buy pumpkins to bring the pumpkin patch to our front yard so we could take pictures.  I also got to wear Mommy's first Halloween costume from when she was a baby.  She says her Mom (my G-MA) made it for her and Auntie Laney wore it too!!

Mommy's beautiful little pumpkin!!!

Same costume my Mommy and Auntie Laney wore when they were babies! My G-Ma is pretty crafty!

Thanks Dad for my own Pumpkin Patch!!

I love kickin' my feet up!

I'm smaller than the pumpkins! Are we done taking pics yet?!

Mommy loves naked baby!

Ok Dad- aren't we going a little far here with this wreath picture??  (Little does Mason know it was Dad's idea!)

6 Weeks and Mason's First Trip to DALLAS!!

So Mason, Mom, Dad and Gunner made a trip up to Dallas- the first of many and we weren't sure how he would do in the car for so long... but he Loved it!  And we loved it because he slept the entire way there and only woke up once on the way home!  He is probably used the car considering he did a LOT of driving while in Mommy's belly!!  Mason had a BIG weekend, getting to meet nearly the entire family on all sides the Smith side, Brothers side and Summers side!  Saturday we went over to my Auntie's house where Mason got to meet his Great Grandpa (Great Papaw) and the Brothers side of the family!  Gracie could not wait to meet this little guy, the passed 9 months she was really interested in me (because of my growing belly) and once he got here she probably won't be paying me much attention anymore!  She could not WAIT to hold him, it was so precious! We can't wait to go back over Thanksgiving to show everyone how much he's grown!!

Gracie and Auntie meeting Mason for the first time!

Papaw says Mason has "A good Foundation!" - that is after he got a look at the size of Mason's feet!!

Gracie couldn't wait to hold him all by herself!

Four generations minus Dad, but we know he's watching and loving Mason James!

One proud Great Papaw!! Mason is SO lucky to have such an amazing Great Papaw!

Papaw now has 3 great grandchildren and from the looks of it- he loves it!!

1 MONTH!!!

One MONTH OLD!!! Man how time flies when you are a cute baby!  So much has happened this past week!  Mason has started filling out and growing - my arms can tell a big difference!  Mason FINALLY lost his umbilical cord and since then got to have his first "Real" bath.  He did not like the first one but since then he seems to think they are ok- he definately makes inquisitive facial expressions wondering what is going on! Now that he's one month he is out of his bassinet and in his own room and crib.  The first two nights were NOT fun for Mommy!  We got up EVERY hour!  But I didn't give up and now (6 weeks) we have only been getting up once a night!  Wooohoo! We've had plenty of visitors but this week was our first time out; to go and eat dinner with some friends at their house.  Mason has had many more smiles and he actually had a small giggle in the middle of the night when I was rocking him back to sleep!  My heart skipped a beat for sure! I cannot wait to hear more of these giggles!! They are priceless!!

Pics for 1 month old....
My First "Real" Bath- I didn't like it as you can tell!!

Growing old is tough! One month old and I'm in my own room!  I'm not sure about this!

I LOVE staring at ceiling fans, they don't even have to be on!

I'm starting to fill out and grow big!

This is officially my bed to sleep in! No longer just for picture taking and tummy time!

Gunner likes it when I have bath time- he loves the water!

One day this chair won't seem so big
Even with as big as my feet are... they look so tiny in Daddy's hands!!

Tummy Time! Trying to crawl already!

I liked my second bath much better than the first! Mommy says I have a cute belly button now that the umbilical cord fell off!

Mommy and Daddy just Love, Love, Love everything about me!

3 Weeks!!

At three weeks... Mason has had his first "social smiles" not just "gassy smiles"! And we LOVE them!!  I can't wait for more smiles and laughs to come!  He's a lot more active and alert this week.  We are still doing sponge baths because that dang umbilical cord will not come off!  He's starting to outgrow his bassinet (in our bedroom) so it is coming close to time for him to try out his own crib in his own room!!  Every morning I wake up his scooted, moved and twisted his way to laying completely sideways in his bassinet and he is just too long for that!  Gunner has been a dream come true for us with Mason.  He is calm and protective and doesn't seem to be jealous.  Thanks goodness! Weston went out of town this week and luckily G-MA came to visit us!!

Gunner Protecting the Bassinet!! Soooo.... sweet!
